From Flat Sheet to Finished Enclosure

AI Fabrication builds custom electrical enclosures in Epping, Melbourne. We take each job from cutting and folding through welding, gasketing, powder coating and marking in-house.

That means fewer hand-offs between suppliers and a clearer path from your drawing to a finished enclosure.

What We Make

  • Switchboard and distribution enclosures
  • Custom electrical boxes
  • Flush-mount enclosures
  • Vented equipment enclosures and cases

How We Build Your Enclosure

The full fabrication process can stay under one roof, from CAD through to finishing and labels.

1. Design & Cut

2D and 3D CAD drawings are prepared or checked in-house, then the body, doors and panels are laser cut with vents, cable entries and mounting holes.

2. Fold & Join

Edges are deburred, fasteners inserted, parts folded on automated bending cells, then laser or robotic welded depending on the job.

3. Seal & Finish

PU gaskets are applied where required, then enclosures are powder coated and can be UV printed or engraved with labels, logos and markings.

Materials, Cutting & Finishing

We work in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Our laser cuts aluminium up to 12 mm, stainless steel up to 16 mm and mild steel up to 25 mm, with parts up to 3 metres long.

Powder coating is completed in-house, with a wide colour range and polishing to a gloss or matte finish on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build enclosures to my drawings?

Yes. Attach your drawings to our quote form or email them to sales@aifabrication.com.au.

What should an enclosure drawing include?

Show the external dimensions and usable internal space, door opening direction, mounting points, cable entries and ventilation cut-outs. Include the positions of internal equipment and any clearance needed for wiring, access or maintenance. Mark critical dimensions rather than relying on a photograph alone.

Tell us the intended installation environment, material, finish, quantity and labelling requirements. State any required IP rating or other project specification in your brief so it can be reviewed with the fabrication requirements.

Do you make one-off enclosures?

Yes. We make single prototypes as well as production runs, and can 3D print parts for early fit checks.

Can you add our logo and labels?

Yes. We UV print or engrave logos, labels, part numbers and panel markings directly onto finished enclosures.

Have an Enclosure Drawing Ready?

Send it through and we’ll quote the fabrication from our Epping workshop.
